Community Fellowship Baptist Church was founded April 26, 2009 in Honolulu Hawaii by pastor Stewart Waterhouse. Currently we have adopted a Human Rights Mission to the world.
Jesus told us to “love our neighbor” and set the example of love even unto the cross. In Jesus we can’t love any less. Each individual is a child of God created in His image. The very dignity of God is thus intertwined with human frailty. The great Shepherd called into the fold his sheep. But one was missing…
“There were ninety and nine that safely lay
In the shelter of the fold;
But one was out on the hills away,
Far off from the gates of gold.
Away on the mountains wild and bare;
Away from the tender Shepherd’s care.
“But none of the ransomed ever knew
How deep were the waters crossed;
Nor how dark was the night that the Lord passed through
Ere He found His sheep that was lost.
Far out in the desert He heard its cry;
’Twas sick and helpless and ready to die.
We invite you to join with us in this mission. We invite you as a pastor, and or, your church, to affiliate with this mission. We will lend you our church umbrella or atleast walk the path with you as you with us. Join us or just affiliate with us, just share our mission! We will help you start a home church, jail ministry, become a pastor or Human Rights Chaplain.
The only *requirement is our common belief in the death burial and resurrection of Jesus (1st Cor 15:1-4) and calling to love our neighbor through Human Rights Advocacy.
Why Baptists? We do not require you to be a Baptist. However, our Chaplaincy credentials we issue are Baptist. Each Baptist Church is self governing thus the Lord’s work is not hindered by a bureaucratic hierarchy. Baptist believe in the “priesthood of all believers” thus we are all called to be pastors and chaplains! This recognition worldwide by Baptists of the common priesthood lends itself to our Chaplaincy Project. The ability of every Human Rights Worker to do so under the Aegis of Chaplain Privilege is a huge aid to our cause. Baptist appeared first in Switzerland, about AD 1523, and thus plants it firmly in the Protestant Reformation.
